I know about The Raven because I studied it in grade school. Along with plenty of other of Poe’s works such as The Cask of Amontillado, The Tell-Tale Heart, and The Masque of the Red Death. Then again, I grew up about in the US. And in particular, I grew up in Baltimore, where Poe lived most of his life and where he is buried.

I’ll have you know that I only learnt about the Simpsons version in the last month or so after reading some Poe 😛
As adaptations go, I rather like it though!
Now I know that “The Raven” was on “The Simpsons”. The only question: what is “The Simpsons”?
I’m a tad older. The cuckoo clock on “The Munsters” had a raven, which rather than “cuckoo” said “Nevermore!”.
This applies to me.
There are not enough commenters saying they also first heard about The Raven from the Simpsons!
I heard about it elsewhere, but the Simpsons /is/ the reason I can quote bits of it.
NOT TRUE!
Epic Rap Battles of History uses it to start and end the Poe vs King battle.
