We only get a few very early morning hours of transit here in the UK, and it’s likely to be cloudy. But if you’ve got a good view where you are look up (safely!), it won’t happen again for another 115 years!
I’m a bit busy, so I was planning just to miss it out and catch the next one (depending on the rate of development of medicine in the near future), but after reading this comic I have the strangest urge to catch not just the next one, but all of them…
The printed manual that came with the game actually mentioned that. It said something like “TIP: if you don’t know who to choose, choose Bulbasaur. The first few gyms are easier with him.” That tip is why I too chose Bulbasaur.
I don’t really understand why so many people I know were extremely excited about that transit. I was busy, and it was cloudy so I didn’t see it. But I saw a video. And it was exactly how I expected it to be.
Not everything that only happens every 115 years is worth seeing… I don’t see the logic there.
I chose Bulbasaur. I beat the Elite 4 and raised him, now Venusaur, to level 75 or so… and then restarted the game because I was dissatisfied with my choice and wanted Charizard instead. So do you really count that?

Everyone totally chose Charmander, right? Unless they had some sort of trade deal with friends going on…
I thought everyone chose Bulbasaur because the first 2 gyms were a breeze with a Leaf type Pokemon. Well at least that’s what I did..

I chose him. I was quite young and misread the name as “blubasaur”, which I found really funny so I named him Blubby. In the end, he tasted great.
No, because charmander was an option.
Bulbasaur is underrated. Everyone loves Charmander ’cause he’s a dragon…lizard…thing…but bulbasaur is awesome!
