Chapter: Comics

Today’s comic link is my podcast buddy Luke Healy’s magical adventure Swanny Nook. It’s a fun tale and it looks fantastic. I’d recommend reading from the beginning.

Bonus points for the 1st person to get the reference in the comic’s title
well isaac newton is the famous reference, but wikipedia says that the etymology of the phrase goes back much further…
It was “Giant Day” I was wondering if people would recognise. Clue: webcomic…
Nope. I just don’t get the reference. And it annoys me because now that I know there’s a reference, my brain won’t let me stop wondering about it.
Just a guess: Don Quixote? Doesn’t he believe the windmills to be ferocious giants?
The only thing that comes to mind is the Giant Days comic on scarygoround.com
10 points to Griffindor!
That’s not as much a reference as a name drop.
Usually reference has a POINT.
Damn it, I would have had those points in the bag!
And I thought zombies had replaced vampires as ‘top mythical being’?
(Whereas the bloke in this comic is atop mythical being)
Just a note - in your tag cloud, you have ‘time travel Nursery Rhymes’ and ‘Chess Grammar Babies Rock’. Is it just me, or does your tag cloud seem to… lack focus?
The tag cloud is a surprisingly good representation of the inside of my head.
I like “Superman Politics”, “Fish Pop Music”, “Babies time travel”, “Medical Hamlet Film”, “Health Facebook”, “Grammar Religion”, “Police Wizard of Oz”, “Chess Superheroes”, “Math sea Romeo”, “Art Nursery Rhymes” and “Christmas physics”.
I just spotted one saying Superman LOVE zombies.
So I’m kinda freaked out now.
Love wolf Drugs Rock Christmas
I got “babies drugs” and “Fish Vampires”. mmmmm fish vampires
The only cure for “facebook zombies” (aren’t we all facebook zombies?) is probably the “superman drug)
“Cavemen time travel”
“Heart wish evolution”
“Christmas health crime poetry”
Is it just me, or is another giant sneaking up behind? Lance to the face!
