To be honest I don’t know why this doesn’t happen more often. Queens are like the best pieces on the board, there’s no way they’d settle for some old fart who moves one square at a time.
Visitors to LukeSurl.com in a brief window of Monday morning may have seen an image similar to this one, but I’d like to point out that the above cannot be as, uh, “misinterpreted” as the previous.
hehe, I got the other one and now its’ replacement on my RSS feed. The text with the first one made me think that I didn’t get the “bad” one, so I was really confused.
is the white bishop supposed to be the father than? If it had been a knight there could have been a comment about a queen needing a stallion.
Awwww man, because the original was moved my comment was lost to the ether.
MrGBH’s comment, lost! Forever! The greatest literary crime since Julius Caesar burned down the Library of Alexandria!
But the Librarian saved all of the most important books!
Ugh man, now I *must* see the first version. That’s not fair
I’m going to go out on a limb and assume there was a white bishop in the original comic.
Aaah, so that’s what the first one meant!
Of course if you don’t tell us what was wrong with the first comic, we’re all going to just assume that something somewhere in there looked too much like a giant penis.
yeah when I saw the old one I thought the joke was that the queen had a penis. but now this has clarified everything.
I feel like I should have the original as some sort of premium content. Charge $$$ for ‘the comic they tried to ban’.
I’d pay for that, Luke! =P
(No, not really…)
And a member of the clergy…. tut tut tut.
On one hand I feel bad that I caused to to redo the strip, on the other at least there are other commenters who saw the same thing in it that I did..
Sorry Luke.
I had to think about this one for a while. I thought the black and grey were the results of different lighting, then I noticed how fast the bishop was moving…
Where can I see the original?
