Yeah, ‘lales’, a hardly-ever used synonym for tulips. Google it if you don’t believe me!
I think this is the most obscure word I had to resort to for this guide (though you’ll see I cheat slightly for X and Z). If you can think of a better candidate for “L” by all means let me know!
How about “locale”? I’ve actually had a locale failure — bad sorting because of en_US vs. C, for example.

Locale and Rationale do rhyme with Fail and Lale. Unless you have an accent whereby they’re pronounced differently.
