. . . . . . . . . .
x^2 - bx - 2b^2 = 0 (x - 2b)*(x + b) = 0 x = 2b or x = -b [2b or not 2b]
Oh… oh, wow. …I love it.
should have made it x = 2b or x = -2b.
“2b or not 2b” instead of “2b or not b”
I agree with miamiandy^
not isn’t a synonym for negative, guys
either the answer is 2b, or it’s not 2b (in this case -b)
But not *is* a homonym of naught, which is zero. “not to be” could be represented by (0 * 2b), or perhaps even (0 ^ b)
That’s true, but 0*2b simplifies to 0, and the joke would be lost to all but the most dedicated readers, such as yourself.
That just gave me a headache
yeah. As a math nerd I find this offensive. The equation should obviously read x^2-4b^2=0 to be or not to be.
not this “to be or not be” crap.
good comic though.
i love dis one:):)
i factored it and @Scrolldownforsolution was right. however, the answer wouldn’t read as “to be or not to be”. i agree that it is a total crap.
Math nerds FTW 🙂

Ok, after viewing the entire archive (up to this one), I was beginning to suspect this is the best webcomic on the web. I think this strip proves the theory!
